Yet another tech-related post.

I’m sure legions of you wake up every morning and use Outlook to check your e-mail.  And curse the slow response times.

Office 2007 SP2 is supposed to fix many of the performance problems with Outlook, so go get it.

Is Iowa more tolerant than Singapore?

When it comes to gay rights, Iowa certainly is.  Gay marriage is now legal in Iowa.

Though to be fair, this was a decision from the court and not put to a vote by the state population.

“But the thing is,” she went on, “it’s really none of my business. Who am I to tell someone how to live? I live the way I want, and they should live the way they want. I’m surely not going to stomp and raise heck and campaign against it.”

I haven’t posted in a few days – had a big group of houseguests staying over.  There were 8 computers connected to my wireless network.  Consumer routers are powerful enough to support small office work!

Interesting articles to take a look at:

Gadgets that make you look like a jerk – Bluetooth headset in the ear being my top choice.  Especially when the person isn’t even on the phone.

You can change what Google says about you – Google now offers to display your profile when someone searches for your name.  I wonder if Live Search will follow suit.

64 Things Every Geek Should Know – I know at least half the things on this list.  Yep, yep, raise the roof to that.

The realization of age

Age hits you in the face at the strangest of moments.

I find myself yelling advice at my television while watching a show about high school kids in their senior year – young folks choosing if they want to go on to university, whether they should stay in their relationships, or what they hope for in their life.

Been there, done that.

Saints Row 2 Video Review

I know this video is puerile but what can I say… it makes me laugh.  Make sure you turn the sound up.

One of the most enjoyable games I played in 2008.  Probably the best co-op multiplayer experience available for the Xbox 360.

And yes, it’s better than Grand Theft Auto 4 (which I enjoyed as well).

Microsoft laptop hunter commercials

About time that Microsoft took on Apple directly in commercials.  The “I’m a Mac” commercials have been successful in smashing Microsoft’s image to bits, so it’s good to see that the company is finally responding.  Even better is that the commercials point out something that can’t be disputed – for the same type of hardware, Macs cost more.

Interesting that in both commercials they end up with an HP machine.
