Since it took me forever to find the answer, I thought I would provide it here. Originally found after sifting through all the messages on this thread.
To do a print screen while running Windows in Boot Camp and using a Mac keyboard, use the keyboard combination: SHIFT + FN + F11
And just for reference, to do a print screen in OSX, you use Command + Shift + 3 or Command + Shift + 4

I run windows 7 throught boot camp on macbook pro. All recommendations did not work. Finally I went into bootcamp, deselected the option in bootcamp to use F keys as standard function keys and now it all works. Shift + FN + alt + F11

Hi, this is a great tip and like you I have been searching for ages!
I am not using bootcamp, rather VMware. It is a similar style of program where I can switch between Windows and Mac on my Macbook however the main difference between bootcam and VMware is that I can switch between anytime rather than having to boot up in one or the other.
I tired the SHIFT + FN + F11 tip but it did not work and I don’t have a F14 key (only goes to F12).
Does anyone know what I could try to Print screen in this instance?

A good reason to use Boot Camp over VMware is if you are using video intensive software. VMware has a limit on its available video ram so if you are using 3d rendering you have to go to Boot Camp. That way you get the full use of your video card. You can log into your Boot Camp partition right from VMware as well and move files back and forth.

Shift + Command (apple key) + 4
It is not F4 but simply the number 4 key.

Just wanted to add that if you want a screen shot of just the one window that is in focus (in Windows on Boot Camp with a Mac Keyboard), its ALT (option) – Shift – FN – F11. Hold them all down in order.

wtf is wrong with you people.. F11 is fullscreen mode at least while using a browser, and what self-respecting mac user has one of those massive keyboards with F13 or F14 keys?? what do people with mac book pros do? the F keys stop at F12…….

None of this worked for me, not sure why. I had to resort to using the On Screen keyboard after many fruitless attempts at taking a screenshot with a Mac Keyboard on my Windows 7 Bootcamp. I have plenty of PC Keyboards laying around but since my main computer is a Mac I like to keep the Mac keyboard connected and I don’t want to switch keyboards every time I want to take a screenshot, ridiculous!

Sorry, but if you guys are using macs running windows, this doesn’t help those of us poor schlubs who have to use pcs. The least I could do to make myself feel better was to use my mac keyboard. NONE of these combinations work if you’re on a PC using a mac keyboard. NONE. And some of them are so involved I feel like my fingers should be hired by Cirque du Soleil!

all programs>>Accessories >> accessibility >> onscreen keyboard
click the ctrl and psc, then normal paste.

FN+SHIFT+F11 worked on my MacBook Air but not on my external keyboard (yet to figure that one out).
I since found the Bootcamp Help and that was useful too – Help > Using Windows on your Mac > PC Key commands.
Also worth checking your settings at Bootcamp Control Panel > Keyboard

Print screen in Windows 8.1 on MacBook Pro with Bootcamp 5 (and Mac OS X 10.9) works for me using FN+Shift+F11 (or FN+Shift+Alt+F11 for active application window only).
Note that in Bootcamp you can set the Fxx keys to work either as Fxx by default or as Mac OS function keys (with the feature printed on the key). I have set it to work as Fxx on Windows by default.
On Mac OS X you can use cmd (Apple) key + 4 (cmd + 3 for rectangular selection).
