Future of video-conferencing

No more awkward staring at a 2D screen while doing a video-conference.

Check out Holographic Video Conferencing

This is from Cisco’s Globalization Centre East opening in Bangalore, India. The guys presenting are as dry as wood, but the technology is very exciting.

(2 of the presenters are in California, their hologram is on-stage in Bangalore, and while it was live people could also tune in via the internet from anywhere in the world).

Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer

At the recent D6 conference, Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer were interviewed onstage about their time together at Microsoft, how they started out, transitional periods, and also their recent efforts in the online Search space.

See 2 great videos of the two of them. One thing that stands out is their camaraderie.

Dunkin Donuts is supporting terrorism??

No, of course they are not.

But there are some morons who intimate that the company is.

Yeah, terrorists are going to stop by Dunkin’ Donuts to get a Boston Creme donut and sugar-filled coffee before blowing something up.

True Romance

For those of you who are fans of Quentin Tarantino’s movie, True Romance, I urge you to read this article.

True Romance: 15 Years Later

And for those of you that haven’t seen it yet… you must.  Christopher Walken, Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, Tom Sizemore, Michael Rappaport… they are just a few of the stars in the film.

Truth about Obama

It amuses me that some people believe that Obama is a Muslim.  That he refused to wear an American flag pin on his lapel, that he associates with criminals, etc.

Nice to see someone creating a video that clarifies things:

What’s it like to be Jack Sparrow?

A former Disney employee writes about his experiences playing Jack Sparrow (from Pirates of the Caribbean) at Disneyland.  It’s a fun read.

No need for a rest day?

According to acting Minister of Manpower Gan Kim Yong, there is no need for a mandatory rest day for maids.

I think the government should re-work his contract – keep him at his high pay of a million dollars a year but ensure he works weekends with no days off. There’s no need for him to take a day off, right? After all… earning so much money already, must live in a nice place, why would he need a day off?

Still in S’pore

Yeah, right.

He’s so out of this country, he’s 1972.
