Why is my LinkedIn showing dating ads?

Professional sites shouldn’t use Google Ads.  I just accepted a connection for a colleague’s Linkedin connection and then went to check out their profile… what do I see?

I am curious as to how my colleague’s profile triggers a slew of ads for both dating and Asia-related items.  Sure, my colleague and I are both Asian, but that’s not listed in the profile anywhere.  Perhaps they’re bringing it up based on her last name (Zhang).

Or perhaps they just know I’ve been searching for Asian girls to date.  Hmm.

Regardless, when I’m on LinkedIn, meeting Asian girls is the furthest thing from my mind.

Google Ads make a site look cheap.

When You are Old and Grey

I was reading Detail Orientation the other day and she had included a Yeats poem.  I was re-reading that poem tonight and thought I’d also post it.

When You are Old and Grey

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim Soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
